  17.     HTML as a MIME subtype had been waiting on a stable HTML spec to
  18.     present to the Internet Assigned Numbers Authority (the people who
  19.     keep track of such names).

  21.     I am lead to belive that the 'html.dtd' document type definition for
  22.     files according to the SGML standard has been successfully processed
  23.     by a commercial SGML package (SoftQuad Author/Editor).  I'd encourage
  24.     people to try out other SGML systems (if necessary by posting stuff
  25.     to comp.text.sgml) and verify that we have the bugs shaken out, then
  26.     approach IANA with the spec.

  31. Ed -- It has been run though sglms by Dan although not in the
  32. very latest version.  I think it is just waiting for me to
  33. put the right Satus message on it to make it an ID to
  34. put it in Joyce's direction.
